Lute and Fuse were supposed to be two of the most important storylines but got sidelined. Mondo (the last boss in Lute's 3 quest storyline) is the head of Trinity formerly one of Lute's father's friends who was an anti-trinity dude. Turns out Mondo had his hand in Black Cross as Dr.Klein built the Spriggan robot (the mech mondo pilots at the end of the storyline) , he was the one who nuked Wataku so he could put up his secret base beneath the ruins, as well as the one who killed Dr. Leonard's original body. Lute's storyline was supposed to have alot of reveals as well as help flesh out some of the supporting cast before Final Fantasy stole a number of programmers and moved forward the deadline on SaGa. Lute ends up becoming the new leader of trinity in the end, and is one of the groups to help depose the illuminati like control over the regions that the collective leaders had. Apparently some gigantic spider-web of villainy was supposed to be revealed by Fuse's campaign between the secret leader of the Magic Kingdom, Orlouge, Cindy Campbell, BlackX, and the others as well as putting in motion the events that caused the Master Ring and other calamities. Lute's innate 'leadership' I think is why he goes from being the absolute worst character in the game to having some of the best growth and spark rates in it.
Aesthetically Lute is my favorite character, and he's carefree attitude is awesome. He really seems at ease in your painting and I imagine him giving that smile during the showdown with Callaberos arc of Riki's storyline. Great work.
I SRSLY think I'm the only Lute fan. He's such a normal guy and that amuses me. He's frustrating, though. His stats're whack -- why is his Charm higher than Asellus's? Why? But he seems to be the one who gets all the rare items whenever I play with them. Guy was packing Durahan Shield and Livingswords and crap.
But I guess he could be easily hated if he's also a wuss :3
